Awareness Program on "HIV/AIDS prevention"
A three days Awareness Program on "HIV/AIDS prevention" was jointly organized by the Department of Public Health of State University of Bangladesh and HASAB (HIV/AIDS and STD Alliance Bangladesh) from 13 to 15 November, 2007 at the auditorium of the University.
With the financial and technical assistance from German Technical Cooperation (GTZ), HASAB adapted and developed the JIC (Join in Circuit on AIDS, Love and Sexuality) in Bangladesh and named the project as “JIC-OIKKO”. This peer education tool for prevention aims at promoting healthy behaviour with regard to HIV / AIDS among the students of the university. The program was based on Entertainment-Education methodology on AIDS issues combining games, role play, discussion and exhibition. The program was very much appreciated by the students, Faculties and others. In each session about 100 to 120 students participated every day.
