President says at State University of Bangladesh Convocation

Ensure balanced education for urban and rural areas-President remarked at the convocation of State University of Bangladesh.

President Iajuddin Ahmed on Monday called for ensuring a balanced education for rural and urban areas so that the new generation could be imparted with quality teachings with out any discrimination.

The president made this call while inaugurating the first convocation of State University of Bangladesh (SUB) as its Chancellor at China-Bangladesh Friendship Conference Center.

Expressing his deep concern over the coaching center based education, Prof. Iajuddin said that apart from respective educational institutions, almost all students are taking lessons from the coaching centers.

The President termed education as the main instrument of building human resources which is also the essence of the time.

Prof. Iajudding said educational institutions particularly universities have great role to play in providing standard and quality education to the students.

"As a center of excellence , universities will impart contemporary education in consonance with the up-to-date curricula of world class universities so that our students can make themselves worthy enough to efficiently face the challenges of the 21st century" he said.

While congratulating the new graduates, the President said that the nation deserved a lot from them as they now attained as the best human resources of the country.

He reminded the new graduates that they have already reached this stage with the collective patronization and support of the society.

Prof. Dr. S M A Faiz, Vice-Chancellor, University of Dhaka was the convocation Speaker. Prof. M S Ilyas Dhami, Acting Vice Chancellor, SUB; Dr. A M Shamim, President, Board of Governors, SUB & Dr. Mahbubur Rahman, Vice President, Board of Governors, SUB spoke on the occasion.
