Press Release MOU signed between State University of Bangladesh and Tribhuvan University of Nepal.
Five honorable members of the two institutions were present at the signing ceremony. The SUB was represented by Dr. Mahbubur Rahman, Vice President of SUB, Dr. Major General M Shahjahan, Advisor of School of Health Sciences at SUB, Dr. A S M Mushior Rahman, Advisor of Bangladesh Institute of Medical and Dental Technology (BIMDT). Prof. Dr. M S Ilyas Dhami, Vice Chancellor of SUB, and Prof. Dr. Govind Prasad Sharma, Vice Chancellor of Tribhuvan University signed the MOU. Tribhuvan University was represented by Dr. Shrestha, Executive Director, Center for International Relations, Dr. Sitaram Adhikary, Professor and Registrar, Prof. Dr. Mahendra Singh, Rector. Under this agreement, both universities will exchange educational information, researcher, students and professions, collaborate and organize joint symposia and conferences and arrange annual workshops between two Universities. This MOU will enable the two universities to apply for international grants such as CIDA, USAID, JICA and WHO. The joining of these two institutions will open new doors for students and educators across the country. Through this MOU, SUB hopes to strengthen the academics and research aspects of both the universities.
Prof. Khan obtained his M.Com. degree from University of Dhaka obtaining 1st class in 1970 and Ph.D. from Gokhalie Institute of Politics & Economics, India in 1984. Prof. Khan is an eminent academician discharged functions in leadership positions as Chairman & Director, Bureau of Business Research, Faculty of Business Studies at the University of Dhaka. He was the member of first Senate of the University of Dhaka. He has many publications, presentations and scholastic activities to his credit. Such as: Business Ethics, Financing Private Sector Industries, Entrepreneurship & Small Business.
Prof. Amin did his Masters in 1970 from University of Dhaka and Post Graduate Doctoral work from Pordue University, USA. He served as Lecturer in Department of English at Chittagong University (1972-73) and at the Institute of Foreign Languages, University of Oran, Algeria. He joined as the Professor at DU in 1995.As a resource person he served as ESP Course Designer & instructor for the General services staff Members, UNFPA Office. He has a number of Publications & presentations. Among those mentionable are-The United States of America: society and culture, Communicative English-Book 3, English For Today.
Dr. Shahjahan Completed his MBBS degree from Chittagong Medical College, Dhaka University, Bangladesh in 1969 and his MCPS from Bangladesh College of Physicians & Surgeons, Dhaka and MD (Hospital Administration) from Pune University, India. He is a member of Dhaka University Senate. His mentionable research works are- ‘A study on utilization pattern physiotherapy service in Army Hospital’ and ‘A study on incidence of malaria among persons working in Chittagomg Hill Tracts and its relation with duration of their stay’. State University of Bangladesh arranged Course on Mulligan’s Approach. Physiotherapy Department of State University of Bangladesh arranged a 5 day course titled ‘Certified Mulligan’s Concept Practitioner’ (CMP) from 25-29 August 2005. Mr. Deepak Kumar, first and only Accredited Mulligan’s Concept Teacher in Asia is conducting the course. Prof. M. S. Ilyas Dhmi, Acting Vice-Chancellor,State University of Bangladesh graced the occasion as Chief Guest while Mr. Deepak Kumar was present as Special Guest in the occasion. Prof. M. S. Ilyas Dhami in his speech as chief guest emphasized the need of arranging such workshop which will especially explore the clinical need of physiotherapy. In his speech he told –“Physiotherapy is very important sector of Health Science. We have to know it and explore it. And we need conduct number of clinical research for it.” Mr. Deepak Kumar in his speech discussed about basic idea and importance of Mulligan’s Concept. Professor Suhrab Ali, Dean, School of Health Sciences, SUB also spoke in the occasion. Prof. A. Y. M. Ekram –ud -Daulah Registrar, State University of Bangladesh offered the vote of thanks on behalf of SUB. LAB AID Chairman in Prize Distribution Ceremony of IT Festival at SUB. The prize distribution ceremony of 3 day long IT (Information Technology) Festival organized by Computer and Programming Club of State University of Bangladesh (SUB) held on Thursday, August 4, 2005 at own city campus,77 Satmasjid Road, Dhanmondi,Dhaka. Mr. Ali Ahmed Bhuiyan, Chairman, LAB AID Group graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. He distributed prizes among the winners of different events of IT Festival. He wished SUB to flourish to the extend which make the nation proud. Professor M. S. Ilyas Dhami, Acting Vice Chancellor, SUB paid his thanks to the organizers and in his speech he said that –Information Technology training should cater the need of Bangladesh. So students should strive hard to get benefit of the Information Technology. Students should take pride as being a part of SUB. Professor A. A. K. M. Lutfuzzaman, Dean, School of Science and Technology and Niaz Makhdum Mohammad, Lecturer, CSE also spoke on the occasion. Professor A. Y. M. Ekram-ud-Daulah, Registrar, SUB paid vote of thanks on behalf of SUB. Computer and Programming Club (CPC)of CSE department arranged a successful Festival on SUB campus for the first time and such occasion helped to uplift the Co-curricular activities of students at the university.
Students of different colleges of Dhaka city took part in these events and many other IT lovers visited the festival. All Faculty Members, Students and Officials of SUB were present in the whole festival.
